Our Story
Seeking Human Kindness — Feed the Nation, Supporting our Community since 2019.
How It All Began
Feed the Nation was founded in 2019, initially supporting people experiencing homelessness across the West Midlands by providing food parcels and essential supplies. This work laid the foundation for our growth into a registered charity, which we proudly became in 2023.
Today, Feed the Nation collects high-quality surplus food from across the UK food industry and redistributes it to those in need — providing up to 1,000–2,000 meals each week to vulnerable individuals and families. We focus on supporting those most affected by food poverty, homelessness, and the ongoing cost of living crisis.
Our mission is simple: to ensure that no one has to choose between eating and paying their bills. We support people from all backgrounds, regardless of their beliefs, ethnicity, or circumstances, because we believe everyone has a fundamental right to food.
As part of our commitment to promoting healthier lifestyles, we aim to include fresh produce such as fruit and vegetables in our food parcels wherever possible.
For several years, Feed the Nation has been entirely self-funded. Now, as a registered charity, we rely on donations to continue and expand our work. With your support, we are able to reach more people in need and assist partner organisations — including homeless shelters and community groups — by redistributing surplus food where it is needed most.
